Welcome

There is a view from the path at every turn. Sometimes the panorama is spectacular, positive and uplifting; at other times the view is misty, cloudy and uncertain. As a lover of the Lake District near Grasmere, this is often a view seen by a walker on their journey. It can be seen at once to reflect not only the choices and pathways found in life, but also those found on the therapeutic journey and the many views from it and within it.

You may find yourself here because life and its challenges are overwhelming at this moment in time. You may find yourself here as your personal and professional choices require you to begin a journey of development and increasing self knowledge. This may be a professional requirement or a response to the call of an inner voice.

Psychotherapy and energy healing can help you on your journey following your inner path; both exist as practices with their own professional standards, ethos and culture. In reality the former is working with the psyche and the latter with the energies of the body. At first glance they may appear to be mutually exclusive, but there is an emerging trend for some consideration of a holistic approach that could include both.

My psychotherapy is Jungian, psychodynamic and transpersonal and is built on a dialogue rooted in the developing relationship and partnership between myself and my client. It also has elements of both Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy developed by John Kabat Zinn; and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy developed by Aaron Beck. Both of these in different ways make us aware of the connections between thoughts and feelings, their relationship and the potential for change.

My energy healing is focussed on the relationship and balance between mind and body. It is built on a dialogue which is focussed on the tones of the voice, pure sound and the channeling and focusing of energies. In the Spring and Summer I am following a training programme that will equip me with the skills of Emotional Freedon Therapy (EFT) which will further complement and enhance the toolkit of skills and strategies that I offer.

There are many reasons for seeking therapy and beginning a psychotherapeutic journey. Entering into psychotherapy will bring both the therapist and the client into a close focus upon the inner world of the client.

Some possible reasons for a therapeutic dialogue may include:
  • bereavement and loss
  • anxiety and depression
  • managing career change
  • loss of energy
  • problems with relationships and identity
  • recovery from illness
  • mid life crisis
  • personal review and change
  • professional development and growth

......and many other circumstances and situations.

I work in dedicated premises used solely for psychotherapy and counselling. The rooms are comfortable, quiet and ideal for the purpose. Situated to the east of the centre of Bedford they are easily accessible to those living in Northampton, Luton and Milton Keynes. A Google Maplink is provided on my contacts page.

Please contact me for an initial appointment so that we can discuss a future dialogue together.

For psyche and body are not separate entities but are one and the same life.

When we work with the psyche and the body's energy system concurrently, there is a powerful therapeutic synergy that is not present when working with the psyche alone or with the body alone.
